Are you looking to be inspired and have an impact in your community? Special Olympics Programs change lives and bring people together and you can join the fun!

Be a part of our global community of athletes, volunteers, and fans by becoming a Special Olympics Oregon Coach!

Coaches come from all walks of life and backgrounds, and don’t need prior experience as we provide the necessary training and resources. Our Coaches teach the skills, attitude, values, and spirit that define a true athlete. They are role models and character-builders both on and off the field of play.

You can be a coach for one or more of our sports seasons:

  • Winter (Jan - March)
    • Basketball
    • Powerlifting

  • Summer (May - July)
    • Athletics - Track & Field
    • Bocce
    • Golf
    • Softball

  • Fall (August - November)
    • Soccer
    • Swimming
    • Volleyball
    • Bowling

The seasonal time commitment for a Coach is approximately 1-2 hours per week for 8-10 weeks. You also get the opportunity to attend a Regional and/or State competition with your team!
