The Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History is excited to announce the return of its biggest, most popular event of the year-Trains, Trains, Trains!- on Saturday, January 28 and Sunday, January 29, 2023. The model train layouts will come in all sizes and feature a variety of themes, many of which have interactive buttons to delight young visitors. Railroad artifacts will be on display for visitors to hold, touch, and discover how they were used. Museum operating hours for the event are from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Regular admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors (ages 65+), and $5 for children (ages 3 to 17), active-duty military (with ID), and university students (with ID). Tickets are available online. Admission for Museum members is always free!
We will need help monitoring the various model layouts, helping with crafts, and more!

Mission Statement
The mission of The Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History is to collect, preserve, and interpret artifacts relating to the role of locomotives in the history of the South. Civil War railroad history, featuring the Great Locomotive Chase and the Civil War locomotive the General, and the manufacture and operation of locomotives during the post Civil War industrialization of the South, will be highlighted through the presentation of exhibits, educational programs relating to the Civil War, the Glover Steam Locomotive Collection, modern railroads, and railroading in the South.
Description
The Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History is located in Kennesaw, Georgia, 22 miles north of downtown Atlanta. The Southern Museum is part of the Smithsonian Affiliations Program and includes Civil War and railroad exhibitions, an early 20th century locomotive factory, a library/archive, and the Jolley Education Center.
