Role of the volunteer

If you like entrepreneurship, want to contribute to the economic development of women, and are passionate about issues of social inequality, this placement is for you!

The Ministry for the Promotion of Women and the Family (MINPROFF) has centers dedicated to the vocational training of young people and adults who have dropped out of the traditional school curriculum. Entrepreneurship is at the heart of the training offered in these centers but nevertheless requires support in order to organize, structure and harmonize the training curricula.

As an entrepreneurship advisor, your role will be to contribute to the harmonization and contextualization of training content with an emphasis on entrepreneurship. It will therefore be a question of developing data collection tools for the centers, consolidating the data of the centers in order to obtain better readability as well as to improve effective decision-making.

The volunteer will have to carry out the following activities:
  • State of play on the knowledge / skills in entrepreneurship with the target
  • Participatory development of an entrepreneurship training module
  • Implementation in the pilot phase of the training module in a pilot CPFF

Essential academic skills:
  • University degree in one of the following disciplines:
  • Management,
  • International Development,
  • International marketing

Experience / Essential Professional Skills:
  • For this position, at least 5 years of relevant work experience is essential in the following functions:
  • Project Manager
  • Entrepreneur,
  • International Marketing Analyst
  • Consultant in entrepreneurship, start-up

Cuso International

Cuso International is a not-for-profit international development organization with a mission to eradicate poverty and inequality. Each year, we send hundreds of qualified volunteers to the field to help our partners maximize their impact and build their capacities. We work with governments, civil society organizations, multilateral organizations and private sector companies to create and deliver programs that promote gender equality, the empowerment of women and girls and access to quality jobs for young people.

Project - SHARE (sharing Canadian know-how for inclusive development and gender equality)

Cuso International will carry out the SHARE project (sharing Canadian know-how for inclusive development and gender equality), with the contribution of Global Affairs Canada (GAC) over a period of seven years. SHARE aims to improve the economic and social well-being of the poorest, most marginalized and most vulnerable people, especially women and girls in developing countries, with the mission to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs ). In addition to strengthening Canadians' engagement with international development and key global issues, this project will seek to improve the performance of country partners to promote innovative initiatives and more inclusive sustainable environmental development that will advance

The Minister for the Promotion of Women and the Family (MINPROFF) is responsible for the development and implementation of government measures relating to the promotion and respect of women's rights and the protection of the family.

Profile Advantages Terms and conditions

Cuso International's terms and conditions allow you to lead a modest and healthy lifestyle while being effective in your assignment. Cuso International support helps cover a volunteer's basic living expenses but is not intended to cover home expenses (e.g. mortgage, student loans, school fees, etc.) luxury items including importing goods from elsewhere, international personal travel, etc.

  • Modest monthly living allowance (amount varies by country)
  • Accommodation while on assignment
  • Round-trip airfare and visa/work permit fees
  • Cost of required vaccines, anti-malarial drugs and health insurance
  • Pre-departure training program and on-the-job orientation (more details below)
  • On-the-ground support through the Cuso International country office
  • Access to the employee assistance program during the assignment and upon return
  • Bonus: Volunteers who extend for 6 months after completing 12 months of service will be eligible for an additional return ticket or cash back.

Other Requirements
Please note that if you are shortlisted for the internship, you will be asked to:
  • Provide two professional references and one personal reference
  • Take an oral assessment during your preliminary telephone interview in the language required for your internship
  • Obtain a police certificate at our request
  • Pass a complete medical examination and obtain the green light from the Cuso International medical adviser before your departure.
  • Due to the COVID-19 situation, be doubly vaccinated in accordance with vaccines approved by the World Health Organization .

Fund raising

We ask each volunteer, regardless of the length of the assignment, to raise $2,000. All volunteers will have the support of Cuso International to achieve this goal. If a volunteer chooses not to fundraise or is unable to meet the fundraising goal, they will be able to make a one-time donation or become a monthly donor to support our work.
