Admission Committee: Workshop Review Stage
ORGANIZATION: PURSUIT TRANSFORMATION COMPANY INC
Please visit the new page to apply.
For each admissions cycle, over 100 volunteers support the Pursuit Admissions team by helping to select the talented individuals to be accepted into the Pursuit Fellowship.
There are three stages of admissions: Workshop Review, Application Review, and Interviews.
During the Workshop Review stage, applicants are welcomed to the Pursuit virtual classroom to learn some basic coding concepts. They are then split up into groups to complete a group project.
At this time, volunteers are placed into the rooms to observe and evaluate their teamwork, communication, and problem solving skills. Although the candidates will be completing a technical project, volunteers do not need to have any technical experience.
At the start of the event, all volunteers are trained and given a Pursuit Admissions rubric in order to evaluate the candidates. We welcome everyone from technical and non-technical backgrounds to participate!

About PURSUIT TRANSFORMATION COMPANY INC
47-10 AUSTELL PLACE 2ND FLOOR, Queens, NY 11101, US
Pursuit creates transformation where it's needed most. Through our long-term intensive program, we train adults with the most need and potential to get their first tech jobs, advance in their careers, and become the next generation of leaders in tech. Our graduates are hired by leading companies like Pinterest, Kickstarter, LinkedIn, BlackRock, and JPMorgan Chase, and increase their average annual salaries from $18,000 to over $85,000.
Based in the New York metro area, Pursuit is an innovative social impact organization whose mission is to create transformation where it’s needed most. Our work builds pathways to lucrative, long-term tech careers for diverse, low-income, high-potential adults by providing supportive training as well as solutions to systemic barriers in workforce development. On average, Fellows increase their income from $18,000 to nearly $90,000, and work at over 300 companies, including Citi, Uber, and Amazon.
Fellows begin their journey with a full year of high-quality, intensive, and supportive training, followed by three years of career development once they’ve been hired. Pursuit also works directly with companies to secure hiring commitments, which results in equitable employment practices, better job conditions, and on-the-job support. To ensure our program is sustainable and scalable, we have also created a revolutionary funding mechanism that allows us to tap into both philanthropic capital as well as impact investor funding.
