National Domestic Violence Collaborative Grant Writer Role Description
We are a national collaborative of advocates with a BOLD vision to nurture healthier individuals, families, and communities by doing advocacy differently.

Our Mission
Our mission is to raise the national standard of advocacy and radically reduce the number of people impacted by domestic violence. We do this through researching, collaborating, developing, and implementing world-class projects and programs.

Grant Writer Role Description
We are looking for a dedicated Grant Writer to write grant proposals for our organization. The Grant Writer will write coherent, organized, and compelling proposals. You will apply your knowledge of fundraising methods and plans to reach income goals. You will collaborate with crew members in the organization to assist with grants, other fundraising projects, and develop relationships with key stakeholders.

To ensure success our Grant Writer needs to write well, have proficient knowledge of fundraising methods, and be committed to the vision, mission, and objectives you are representing. The Grant Writer is also a deadline-driven team player with outstanding multitasking abilities.

Grant Writer Responsibilities:
● Developing relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders.
● Displaying adherence to the organization’s vision, mission and objectives.
● Maintaining proficient knowledge of the organization’s history and programs.
● Assisting with the execution of the development department's strategy.
● Identifying grant funding opportunities.
● Writing, submitting, and managing grant proposals.
● Furnishing prospective funders with supporting documents.
● Collaborating with the Chief Empowerment Officer and Grants Director to
send funders newsletters, and to promote on-site tours.
● Collaborating with the Chief Empowerment Officer and Grants Director to
compile an annual report.
● Maintaining records in hard copies and computer databases.

Grant Writer Requirements:
● Experience in creative writing or related fields.
● Some grant writing experience or certifications
● Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources.
● Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
● Strong people skills.
● Excellent organizational skills.
● Ability to meet deadlines.

Time Commitment
● 5 hours per week
● 1 year service minimum
