Event Description:
Broadway Community is thrilled to launch its brand-new computer lab, which was made possible through a generous grant from Columbia Community Service.
Each Tuesday and Thursday afternoon, the Broadway Community computer lab will hold employment assistance workshops, through which any member of the community may receive help creating a resume, writing a cover letter, applying for a job, or preparing for an interview.
Volunteer Responsibilities
- Ensure that the computer lab remains a calm and welcoming environment.
- Assist Guests with creating email addresses, resumes, cover letters, and applying for jobs.
Volunteer Competencies
- Empathy, patience, and compassion.
- Basic computer and internet skills.
- Understand how to write a resume and cover letter.
- Familiarity with online job listing portals.

Description
Over the last 40 years, we have served thousands of New Yorkers experiencing homelessness, hunger, and poverty.
Our staff, volunteers, and community partners serve with unconditional compassion and empathy.
Here, you can find a broad range of programs including a soup kitchen, a food pantry, a seven-night-a-week shelter, on-site medical services, a computer lab, employment assistance, benefits enrollment, a life skills program, and more.
