Maitri wouldn’t be able to operate successfully without the loving efforts of our volunteers. Volunteers provide practical and emotional support to residents, assist by their bedsides, help with household chores, accompany clients to appointments, and perform various administrative tasks.

Maitri Compassionate Care is a 15-room licensed Residential Care Facility for the Chronically Ill in the Castro that provides compassionate residential care to people with HIV/AIDS who are in need of 24-hour medical or mental health care for hospice, respite/restoration, or gender-affirmation support. We seek compassionate individuals to provide emotional support to residents by escorting them to doctor's appointments, taking them out for coffee, reading by their bedside, or sitting with someone who is actively dying.
