Alzheimer's Association Mission: To eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. The Alzheimer's Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research.

Our Vision: A world without Alzheimer's disease.

We are looking for passionate Alzheimer's Ambassadors to serve on our event Planning Committee for The Longest Day (TLD), our annual "do-it-yourself" fundraising program! Shine a light with us to fight the darkness of Alzheimer's and all other dementia.

The Longest Day is the day with the most light - the summer solstice. On The Longest Day, thousands of participants from across the world come together to fight the darkness of Alzheimer's through an activity of their choice. Together, they use their creativity and passion to raise funds and awareness for the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.

Can you spare a few hours a month to help ENDALZ? Have fun and help plan and grow the Longest Day- the Alzheimer's Association's fastest-growing event, across Arizona. Are you a leader in your AZ town, company, or club? Do you love to play a racquet sport, golf, paddle or hike? Are you a social media pro? Turn your passion to #ENDALZ into purpose. A little of your time can go a long way toward a cure!

The volunteer's role for TLD includes all or some of the following: attending monthly committee meetings (currently virtual), making phone calls to participants, writing thank you cards, reaching out to your network and making connections, assisting with marketing of events, participating on the TLD social media pages, fundraising etc. Your Alzheimer's Association staff partner supports you throughout the program and is very flexible and happy to tailor your volunteer experience around your interests and schedule. We are currently 100% remote.

Ideal volunteers would have some of these traits: Enjoy connecting with people, passionate about ending Alzheimer's, enthusiastic, creative, comfortable talking on the phone, and a willingness to participate in or co-host events. Arizona Residents only

Monthly c ommitment: Approximately 4-5 hours per month. This will vary depending on the month, and as mentioned above, our staff partner is very flexible with what works for you. While TLD is on June 21st, we like working with volunteers year-round.

See how you can help. Email kequinn@alz.org For more information on The Longest Day visit alz.org/tld email kequinn@alz.org or view a video at https://youtu.be/fMUOPMnj9sk
