Central Middlesex is one of the more dynamic of the National Alliance on Mental Illness affiliates in Massachusetts. We connect with people with mental health conditions and their families and expand mental health awareness in the communities we serve. Each January we welcome new members to our board and recruit potential candidates throughout the year. Their backgrounds, experiences and passions differ, but they all want to help build better lives for people living with mental health conditions and their families. We do this by offering education, support, and local and state level advocacy.
Our team is a group of empathetic, energetic individuals who keep free NAMI support groups and classes in place for those in need and organize unique programs we offer for the benefit of communities within our affiliate area like the College Panel, Emerson Hospital Resource Flyers, Faith Communities & Mental Health Forum, Stand Up to Stigma Scarecrow Contest, and our Community Outreach Tables.
If you enjoy operating on the big picture level of an organization with dedicated colleagues, consider joining the NAMI Central Middlesex board. Our team meets monthly via Zoom, generally on the second Monday evening of the month. Our volunteers have experience living with a mental health condition or supporting someone who does and live in or near the towns we serve.
