ORGANIZATION: Artportunity Knocks

ARTPORTUNITY KNOCKS is an Arts and STEM ("STEAM") nonprofit catered to grade school youth in the Greater and Metro Atlanta area, offering students Fun, Creative, and Positive ways to express themselves and explore career pathways in STEAM industries. We INVITE YOU TO VOLUNTEER with us for our PEACE OF ART Showcase on Saturday, October 29th at the Town Center Mall at Cobb. See below for more details...

To: Youth Organizations/Schools/Volunteers

Our youth and families have had a difficult last couple of years dealing with Covid, school disruptions, and even a rise in violence. ARTportunityKnocks.org has implemented STEAM programs in a number of metro Atlanta schools throughout these challenging times acting proactively to feed, educate, and inspire youth to rise above the turmoil through Arts and STEM programs.

Now more than ever, ARTportunity Knocks is championing PEACE through the Arts.

AK is proud to announce the beginning of an exciting peace effort: "A Peace of Art". Our Peace of Art initiative invites parents, students, volunteers, and surrounding communities to the Town Center Mall at Cobb to celebrate the power of art to improve the lives of our young people. This will be the inaugural event for our Peace of Art Showcase that will include the Town Center Mall retailers, Cobb County Schools, Cobb County Sheriff’s Office, local professional artists, Atlanta-area students (K-12, college, and young adults), youth from faith-based communities, and more--all to celebrate their vast and diverse talents in the Arts!

Young students will present live performances, visual art, and panel discussions about healthy behaviors, and more. Hundreds of young people will be encouraged to build their lives based on healthy relationships, positive self-awareness, and respect for all people. These participants will be given a voice to promote PEACE-related topics through many forms of art.
