The Plano Public Library is seeking practicum students/interns with an interest in history or information organization. This practicum/internship unpaid, volunteer role. Students should be enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate degree program (MLS/MLIS, BS in infomatics or data science, BA/MA in history or anthropology).
Practicum students must be comfortable with technology, able to volunteer in-person, and have an interest in the archiving process. Practicum students will support Genealogy projects by sorting, organizing, scanning, creating metadata, and uploading an archive collection into the digital library. Students may scan texts, photographs, negatives, maps, posters, and other materials.

- Must be at least 18
- Placements are usually for one semester. Number of hours dependent on applicant's internship needs. MLS/MLIS practicums usually require 120 hours.
- Must be enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate degree program. Familiarity with Windows OS. Comfortable using new technologies. Experience with archival materials, photography, detail imaging, or photo editing is a plus.
