West Twin Ponds Park Work Party

Save to Favorites

Blackberry Removal

Join the Green Shoreline Partnership in this seldom seen part of Twin Ponds Park, as we transform it from a patch of weeds and thorns to a grove of willow trees, grand firs and native shrubs. We are here every Sunday morning clearing introduced weeds in preparation for our second planting along Meridian Creek on the northwest border of the park.

All are welcome to attend. Gloves, tools, and training are provided. You are also welcome to bring your own gloves from home if you have them!

About Forterra

901 5th Avenue, Suite 2200, Seattle, WA 98164, US

Mission Statement

Forterra's mission is to act with immediacy to protect, enhance and steward our region's most precious resources--its communities and its landscapes. Since 1989, we have been working toward a future in which our children and grandchildren can experience nature in and around our urban environments.

Forterra conserves land by working with individuals, companies and local governments. We strive to maximize the ecological value of land, while meeting the needs of landowners. We may accept land as a donation, purchase it, or transfer it to public ownership. We often serve as a broker to identify and negotiate the most effective ownership to protect important lands. We establish conservation easements to preserve special features. For each and every property, we explore available strategies or create new ones to provide permanent protection. Forterra has established a Conservation Agenda for our region, with specific priorities and methods for each type of landscape. Current initiatives include the protection of working forests on the foothills of the Cascades, and the creation of salmon sanctuaries along our region's highest quality rivers and streams.
