Hops for Hop 5k and Brewfest

Hops for Hope 5k & Brewfest is hosted annually by Project Mobility and joined by a number of gracious sponsors, and volunteers. It is a fund- raiser centered around awarding Adaptive Bicycles to disabled children (cancer/autism), adults and veterans. Our mission is to give the disabled an opportunity to experience the freedom of mobility through cycling. (www.projectmobility.org / www.hopsforhope5k.com)

The 5k begins at Mount St Mary's Park in St. Charles, winds along the beautiful Fox River . . . and has a twist . . . think water stops, but beer. The event is for the serious runner who can skip the Beer Stops to get their best time all while being chip timed, the casual runner, or those who love to walk. There is also a Brewfest only option for those who would just like to take in the festivities and cheer on runners or walkers.

Post 5K participants are invited to visit the Brewfest - local breweries, food, vendors, live music, raffles (Mountain of Beer and 50/50), and the featured - ADAPTIVE BIKE GIVEAWAY.

There are many different volunteer opportunities available and we are in need of volunteers who are 21 or older to help with setup, brewery load in/out, parking, registration, BASSET certified volunteers to check in participants, gear check, food tent . . . and more.

Won't you please consider volunteering for this great cause, and help bring smiles and the freedom of mobility to those who are otherwise watching from afar.

About PROJECT MOBILITY CYCLES FOR LIFE INC

Location:

2930 CAMPTON HILLS DR, SAINT CHARLES, IL 60175, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of children, adults, and wounded soldiers with disabilities (cancer and autism). This is made possible by providing the services, resources, and equipment needed to promote better health, independence, and the freedom of mobility through adaptive cycling.

Description

Project Mobility was formed in 2002 by Founder Hal Honeyman. Hal's interest in adaptive cycling (bicycles for people with disabilities) was spurred when his own son Jacob was born with cerebral palsy. Hal wanted to find a way for Jacob to join the family when bicycle riding. After Jacob's needs were met, Hal found a demand for adaptive cycling and this led to the formation of Project Mobility.

Project Mobility, a nonprofit organization, offers recreational events using specialized bicycles for people with disabilities. Our professional staff works with families, rehabilitative professionals, and organizations to promote better health, independence, and most of all the freedom of mobility for people with disabilities.

Project Mobility, delivers these bikes to schools with children with disabilities (cancer and Autism), rehabilitative hospitals, and other places for the disabled, such as Shiners' Hospital, Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Access Chicago, Illinois schools, the University of Illinois, Independence First, Great Lakes Adaptive Sports, Molloy Education Center, and Fox Valley Special Recreation to provide the freedom of mobility and the experience of riding.
