As a part of our housing programs, Lighthouse sends out text surveys to our clients monthly to ensure satisfaction and ease of entry into the housing and intake process. Every month, we follow up with those who have not yet taken the survey to try to obtain their important feedback.
Lighthouse is in need of a long-term volunteer to call survey recipients who have not yet completed these surveys. This entails:
- Coming into our Pontiac office once a month on the third week of the month to make calls (this will be to use the office phone unless you would like to use your personal phone from home).
- You will call back those who have not yet completed their surveys. The number of people to call usually ranges from 15 to 20 calls a month. You will attempt to administer the survey(s) over the phone if the client agrees.
Time commitment:
This process takes place one day out of the third week of the month. This process is estimated to take 1.5-2 hours depending on the responses received when making the calls.
Requirements:
- Be able to commit ~2 hours a day on the third week of each month.
- Ability to work on the computer and utilize Google Docs.
- Ability to effectively communicate over the phone.

Mission Statement
Building Communities that End Poverty
Description
Lighthouse of Michigan was established in 2019 when Lighthouse of Oakland County and South Oakland Shelter combined forces and merged agencies. LOC was founded in 1972 and started with a group of volunteers who provided food and clothing from the back door of a local church. SOS was established in 1985 by seven religious congregations in Oakland County. The new Lighthouse will leverage the best of both agencies, providing direct services (food, shelter, rental/utility and other financial assistance, clothing, crisis referrals) and stability and housing programs that develop and support self-sufficiency.
