Help Decorate Nativity House Shelter for the Winter Holidays
Homelessness can be especially hard around the holidays which is why we're looking for volunteers and volunteer teams to help bring some much needed holiday cheer to the shelter.
The Plan:
- Decorate the shelter for Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanza & Winter Solstice and deck out the day center with holiday cheer.
- Volunteers can use whatever decoration we have acquired through donations.
- Volunteers are welcome to make/bring their own decorations to use and/or donate.
- Shifts are flexible but the period of time after dinner is the best opportunity for volunteers to come after work and it's one of the few times when the day center is mostly empty.
The goal is to get the space decorated by the first or second week after Thanksgiving.
A team of 5-7 people can probably get it done in about an hour depending on how many decorations we have available.
Requirements:
- Everyone must be at least 18 years old to help onsite (kids can help make decorations at home/school/church)
- Everyone working onsite must pass a background check (Washington State Patrol & NSOPW)
- Everyone must sign a Covid-19 liability waiver
- Everyone must provide proof of vaccination (Covid-19) to help decorate at the shelter
- Everyone must wear PPE (provided through CCS) while working at the shelter
