Volunteers will rotate through two different projects - maintenance on the Bird Blind area and mulching and weeding around newly planted native trees and shrubs. US Forest Service Rangers will lead volunteers on an interpretive hike while traveling to the project locations.

Pre-registration is required and space is limited. All ages and abilities are welcome! Students ages 16 or older can volunteer without an adult present.
Accessibility: The project areas are on flat dirt trails but vary in distance between 10 and 30 minutes from the parking lot.
What to bring: A water bottle, sun protection
What we provide: gloves, tools, snacks and beverages
What to wear: Long sleeves, pants, and sturdy shoes
Before the event: You will receive an email with a specific parking location and additional details.
At the event: Estuary Partnership and Confluence staff will share project goals.

Description
The Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership is a non-profit, a National Estuary Program, and a collection of dedicated scientists, educators, and community members who are passionate about the Columbia River.
We focus on the lower 146 miles of the Columbia River, from Bonneville Dam to the Pacific Ocean, including the tidally influenced portions of tributaries in that area. The watershed includes 28 cities, nine counties, and 45 school districts within the states of Oregon and Washington.
