Description: Walk with Friends is a program run by the nonprofit Health Education Council. At this program, community member comes together once a week to get in steps, socially connect, and receive fresh produce free of charge. We are looking for a volunteer to help our staff pick up produce at the West Sacramento Family Resource Center at 8am and then bring it to Elkhorn Elementary. The volunteer will then help our staff lead the walk, distribute community resources and educational materials, and help distribute the produce from 8:30am-10am.
Responsibilities:
- Be able to drive to and from food bank and distribution
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Vehicle Space to load produce from food bank pick up site into car and unload at school
- Represent the Health Education Council by promoting healthy habits
- Help with coordinating Walk with Friends program including: sign in sheet, resource dissemination, lead group stretch among other tasks
