We are looking for those who may not know exactly where they want to help refugees- just that they do. This is a great starting place. This position was created as a building block for all other positions. By starting here and building relationships with our staff and their awe-inspiring programs, you can find the one that speaks to you over time. A longer description is below.

Immediate help is needed to support our Migration and Refugee Services Offices. We need volunteers to be warm and welcoming faces to those seeking information and help daily between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday. We also need help with various office tasks associated with assisting people to become self-sufficient and working alongside staff. This may include receiving donations and organizing information for staff and Case Workers, Employment Specialists, Housing Specialists, School Liaisons, Education Workforce Development (Spanish speaking a must), Drivers (some extra trainings and validation required), Special groups, and many more opportunities. If you speak Spanish, Dari, Pashto, Ukrainian, and or Farsi would be wonderful but not required.

Description
Catholic Charities, Diocese of Arlington's Newcomer Services is made up of two departments - Hogar Immigrant Services and Migration and Refugee Services.
Hogar Immigrant Services responds to the Church’s call for social justice by welcoming the stranger to this country, regardless of ethnicity, religion, nationality, or ability to pay.
Migration and Refugee Services is one of 104 national affiliates of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Since its founding in 1975, the office has resettled and assisted over 30,000 refugees and asylees in the Northern Virginia community.
