Background: MovingWorlds is a social enterprise helping professionals volunteer their skills with organizations around the world who are innovatively solving local issues. "Experteering" is the word we coined for skills-based volunteering - the combination of the words expertise + volunteering. It is the act of volunteering your expertise, skills, experience, and time with organizations that need it.

It's been featured in WhyDev, SSIR, Devex, HBR, Forbes, FastCompany, and many more publications as a way to develop new skills and make a real impact!

Project Description and Impact:

ARED developed a solar-powered distributed digital infrastructure technology to help bridge the digital gap in emerging markets. Basically, we are bringing storage and computation power on the edge closer to the user to help lower the access cost for users and provide an affordable infrastructure for SMEs. Users can access any digital applications via WIFI offline. We also allow SMEs to build digital applications on top of our infrastructures at an affordable cost. We have opened our infrastructure to third-party partners and local developers to better develop and distribute their applications to low-income people.

ARED is a B2B company, we work with partners that help us implement our infrastructure on the ground and we develop a revenue-sharing structure from customers that build digital applications on the infrastructure.

Deliverables:

The project is just a total redesign of your main website aredgroup.com, we want to provide a more engaging approach. The support will assist ARED in making our platform more engaging and attracting more partners so we can scale our program. We are hoping this new website will be more robust, user friendly and a better UI than the one we have.

We are working on redesigning our website, and we need some technical support to achieve it. Our goal is to provide a more engaging platform for information and better educate our visitors about the work we are doing.

Learning Opportunity:

The expert will learn about our project, some of the challenges the African continent is facing and most importantly understand about the digital gap that exist on the continent.

How to apply: if you are interested, please send an email to flavia.speiski@movingworlds.org and we will help connect you!
