Mission Statement

The mission of the Love Works Resource Center (LWRC) is to support the underserved in our community - one person, one family at a time. The LWRC promotes positive change in Montgomery County through a holistic approach that provides educational programming, therapeutic support services, and resources to meet the most basic of needs.

Description

The LWRC is a newly formed 501c3 nonprofit organization in the heart of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. We believe inside every community there should exist the opportunity to demonstrate tangible acts of love, and that a community thrives when every individual and family thrives. Therefore, we see "basic needs" through a broader lens encompassing not only food and clothing, but also education and therapeutic support.

LWRC’s Four Areas of Programming:

  1. Food Pantry - We provide free groceries to anyone that displays a need or is in an emergency situation. We utilize an online ordering system, so that people have some autonomy in choosing exactly what works best for their families.
  2. Free Clothing - We have a free clothing room where clients can go "shopping". We offer clothing, shoes, and accessories for children & adults.
  3. Free Furniture - We work with individuals and social workers to provide furniture to individuals/families in need, including those being rehomed after homelessness or natural disaster.
  4. Creative Arts Therapy/Educational Programming - We recently launched our first fully funded music therapy group for underserved families and their small children. This service is free of charge and is under the care of a licensed, board certified music therapist. We plan to offer more groups and also add art therapy and educational programming in the coming months.
