Amedisys is a leading provider of home health and hospice services. Focused on providing professional and personalized care to each and every patient in the comfort of their own their own home. Our patients are the number one reason we are here and our commitment is to care for your loved one as we would our own.
A hospice volunteer is a special part of our hospice team. If you have a desire to make a difference in the lives of the terminally ill and for those that are grieving, by giving your time to assist our patient, family member or our staff, then you have the qualities we are looking for in our volunteers. Volunteering includes, visiting, reading, playing games, comforting, making phone calls and much more.
We are currently looking for caring, compassionate volunteers willing to spend a few hours a month helping to support patients and their families. As little as a few hours a month can bring so much support to our patients and their families. On average volunteers give about 8 to 16 hours a month.
New hospice volunteers participate in free training that provides information regarding our hospice philosophy of care.

Volunteering includes visiting with patients, creating charts of life, weekly patient phone calls, making scrap books, blankets, cards, treats, reading and playing games, and much much more.
New hospice volunteers participate in free training that provides information regarding the hospice philosophy of care.
