Hospice Companion Volunteer
ORGANIZATION: Beacon Hospice of Michigan
Please visit the new page to apply.
Hospice volunteers provide vital companionship to a patient, enriching their quality of life by simply being present. They sit with patients and read to them, listen to their stories, play music or sing, pray, knit, play cards, or simply be present.
Currently, volunteers may visit patients living at home and in some nursing facilities. Beacon Hospice is seeking volunteers to sit and visit with patients.

Beacon hospice is dedicated to providing care and comfort to a terminally ill patient and their family. We provide the highest quality of care possible by employing a team of healthcare professionals to administer comfort and support.
Beacon Hospice strives to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs of patients and family members who share the emotional trauma of a terminal illness. Beacon Hospice is committed to educate the community and increase awareness of the hospice concept of care among medical professionals, lay persons, clergy, and those in need of a compassionate approach to care.
Beacon Hospice admits patients without regard to race, religion, national origin, ancestry, marital status, disability, or sexual preference. The admission criteria does not deny admission or services to people with communicable diseases including but not limited to HIV, MRSA, and Hepatitis B.
