We have a really special volunteer opportunity we are looking for individuals to join us to assist!
On Thursday, September 29th from 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM at the Women's National Democratic Club, we will be holding our annual Welcome Breakfast for an interactive conversation with Ayuda’s former clients, staff, board members, donors, and other supportive friends. This is a great opportunity to learn a little bit more about Ayuda's work, organization structure, and getting to meet some of our staff, directors, and partners in the DMV! Thus, we want you to join us at this special volunteer opportunity, which you may also be able to join depending on what shift signed up for, as a a way to assist our work and learn more about us.
There will be two volunteer shifts on the day of the event, Thursday, September 29th. We are also in need of a couple of volunteers to assist with preparations for the event the day before at our DC office. Opportunities recruiting for are outlined below:
Event Preparations Shift (Wednesday, September 28th, 2 - 5 PM): Volunteers will assist our Communications & Development Coordinator with preparations for our event at our downtown DC office like the making of nametags and organizing of materials that we will be bringing to the event the name day (CAPACITY FOR 2 VOLUNTEERS)
Set Up / Greeting Shift (Thursday, September 29th, 7:00 AM - 8:30 AM): Volunteers will assist with last minute setup needed the morning of and then take there place as either a name-tag table volunteer or an usher. Name tag volunteers will set up name tags on table, help guests locate their name tags as quickly as possible, create name tags for people that do not have them. Ushers will help guests find their tables/Table Hosts and invite guests to promptly get their breakfast. At 8:30 when the event starts, volunteers joining this shift can enjoy breakfast and listen in as well. (CAPACITY FOR 4 VOLUNTEERS)
Breakdown / Farewell Shift (Thursday, September 29th, 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM): Volunteers joining this shift will not be able to participate in the event as we will need assistance in the case of late arrivals and as well at the end of the event to offer gift bags and words of appreciation to departing guests. Volunteers will also encourage guests to recycle their nametag and assist with post-event breakdown at the end. (CAPACITY FOR 2 VOLUNTEERS)
We will be implementing our COVID-19 policy for ALL volunteers effective immediate as all individuals joining us must submit proof of their vaccinations (full dosage/dosages + booster) prior to their joining. If you forget, you can show proof upon joining but volunteers who do not submit prior nor show proof at the time will unfortunately be turned away and not permitted to join. This policy is in line with our organizational culture and is important in maintaining the health and safety of all staff, interns, beneficiaries, and fellow volunteers.
