Do you enjoy music? Do you like to sing?
Do you play a musical instrument? Can you play music using a smart phone or CD player?
Music is THE universal language enjoyed throughout a lifetime providing comfort, companionship and memories.
You don't need a lot of talent! Just willing to give some time to someone receiving hospice care.
You can make a difference!
We will train and support you every step of the way! Volunteers meet all sorts of people in hospice and each has a story and different circumstances. You will learn so much on how to enjoy the time you spend with them!
Note: Volunteer where YOU choose! Our service area is the counties of Berks, Schuylkill and Lebanon. Our patient assignments are within YOUR travel area. THIS OPPORTUNITY CAN ALSO BE DONE VIRTUALLY ! Let's talk!

Description
Compassus Hospice is looking for volunteers to support our patients and staff in a variety of ways. Office volunteers assemble packets make copies, do computer work and make phone calls. Patient care volunteers make visits to patients providing companionship and comfort as well as offer much deserved respite to caregivers. Bereavement volunteers befriend those left behind through friendly phone calls and guided visits from our Bereavement Coordinator. Specialty volunteers offer a gamut of services including pet therapy, art therapy, Reiki therapy, massage therapy, Memory Bear - grief support item created from the patient's clothing -, and interns. Where ever your interest or talent lies, we can find a niche for you to invest in our hospice volunteer program!
