We are creating an advisory committee for New Treks. This will be a 4-5hour/month time commitment. The Events chair will collaborate with New Treks leadership and other committee members to plan events for New Treks. This can look like film screenings, dine and donate nights, fundraising events, and more. We are also planning an event for underrepresented business owners so we can increase our voice, network, build community, and gain resources from successful businesses. The Events Chair will help with the back work for this event - searching for a venue, getting corporate sponsors, spreading awareness, and more. We want to get the ball rolling and need support to do so!

Mission Statement
Our mission is to teach socioeconomically diverse youth the foundations of adventure so they can safely and confidently experience the outdoors.
Description
We strive to increase access to the outdoors for underprivileged youth. By partnering with schools to teach an outdoor elective course, we remove the barriers of time, money, knowledge, and gear for many of our students. Students also get credit for our course, which helps them towards graduation, while also going bouldering, climbing, paddling and more during the school day! We believe in the power of the individual and build strong connections with our students so that they can trust us while trying new activities. In addition, we incorporate social-emotional skills so students can grow in confidence, practice communication, and learn how to work in group settings. We are also offering affordable summer camps so more underprivileged youth can explore the outdoors!
