WALK SEASON IS ALMOST HERE!!! In an effort to raise funds and awareness to help end Alzheimer's disease and all other dementias, the Alzheimer's Association NYC chapter is excited to share that we have four upcoming WALK to End Alzheimer's events this fall season! Come join our team at the WALK of your choice to honor a loved one, connect with other caregivers, and/or just show some support in your community! Dates for all four upcoming NYC chapter WALKS are located below so make sure you each mark your calendars!
To register for WALK, you can visit our website HERE or you can scan the QR code also included below on our WALK flier. We encourage everyone that registers to get others involved by creating a team to help us raise awareness.
For volunteers looking to get more involved with WALK from a logistical standpoint, our chapter has a variety of available roles, including but not limited to the following areas of support:
- Set up & tear down, promise garden, registration tent, parking lot ushers, route marshals, booth coverage, food and beverage. (All assigned support for WALK is based on comfort level and ability. Assignments are determined on WALK day unless accommodations need to be made prior to the WALK event of your choice).
* Volunteer hours for the types of support highlighted above range from 7am-1pm or 8am-12pm.
We provide all volunteers on site with a t-shirt that they keep after the event is over. Our chapter asks that those looking to get involved for WALK dress accordingly with the anticipated weather for the day of the event.
Please reach out to Jason Wedge, Development Specialist at jawedge@alz.org or Alex Schoeneck, Senior Manager, Walk to End Alzheimer's at alschoeneck@alz.org to further discuss how you can get involved supporting our WALK events. Thanks for your continued support and we look forward to seeing many of you at our WALK events this fall season!!!

Description
The Alzheimer's Association was founded in 1980 by a group of family caregivers and individuals who recognized the need for an organization that would unite caregivers, provide support to those facing Alzheimer's, and advance research into the disease.
Today the Alzheimer's Association reaches millions of people affected by Alzheimer's and other dementias. We are the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support, and research. You can help advance our mission by volunteering for one of our signature fundraising events - the Walk to End Alzheimer's or The Longest Day.
