Volunteer Lisa has offered to lead a birding basics walk at North Mississippi Regional Park. You do not need to know a thing about birding to join this training! Lisa has been leading bird walks for many years and offers fantastic advice for nature observers of all experience levels. Training attendees will learn a bit more about birding and how to incorporate birding into whatever volunteer activity they are doing.

The Volunteers-In-Parks program, jointly managed by Mississippi National River and Recreation Area and Mississippi Park Connection, connects, educates, and promotes the enjoyment of the resources of the Mississippi River through unique and entertaining volunteer opportunities to the entire community.

Description

The Volunteers-In-Parks program is a joint program with Mississippi Park Connection. Mississippi National River and Recreation Area represents America's greatest river, the Mississippi, which weaves together the natural and cultural heritage and economic vitality of the region. The National Park Service works with partners to foster increased citizen awareness, advocacy, and enjoyment of the resources of the Mississippi River.

Volunteer-In-Parks provides people with opportunities to discover, experience, and enjoy the diversity of the Mississippi River while also preserving it for future generations through volunteer restoration projects and education programs.
