Recruiting Organization: Wycombe Museum
Wycombe Museum and our volunteers
Volunteers are a vital and valued part of the Wycombe Museum family. We value every skill that people bring and every minute that people give to us, and endeavour to have every volunteer feel appreciated and enjoy the time they spend helping us. We strive to have a relationship with our volunteers based on mutual respect and understanding.
This is an exciting time to get involved at Wycombe Museum as we move into post-COVID recovery and welcome all our audiences back through our doors.
As a Café Volunteer, you will be running the Windsor Chair Café with the support of our Front of House Staff.
A typical day in this role will include tasks such as:
- Welcoming and serving visitors
- Making hot and cold drinks
- Serving pre-prepared food
- Handling money and taking payments
- Clearing and cleaning the café space
- Answering questions about the museum
- Answering phones
- Helping with stock checks and rotation
Café shifts are four hours: 11am - 3pm, and the Windsor Chair Café is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. The café is sometimes very quiet and sometimes very busy depending on what else is happening in the museum.
We need people every open day but especially on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Who would be supporting me?
The Wedding & Venue Hire Co-Ordinator, Lauren, and Visitor Experience Co-Ordinator, Angie, would be your main point of contact. On a daily basis, the Duty Manager and our staff and volunteers will be helping you.
