The mission of SOAR365 is to create life-fulfilling opportunities for people with disabilities ( https://www.soar365.org).

The Facilities/Maintenance Department is seeking a motivated volunteer who can assist with the creation of a best practices manual. This volunteer will:

  • Create an outline of standard topics that should be contained in the manual based on staff guidance & research
  • Assemble and organize existing policies/procedures and incorporate into the outline
  • Conduct research to fill in gaps in the outline (policies/procedures that don't exist yet)

Manual topics should include: Basic facilities/maintenance practices/policies/procedures; Janitorial practices/policies/procedures; Building operations; Continuity planning; Emergency response practices; Fleet management; and Preventative Maintenance.

In partnership with families, SOAR365 creates life-fulfilling opportunities for individuals with disabilities, annually serving over 1,400 people and their families. Founded in 1954, SOAR365 is an organization created by families, for families; an organization that has grown to provide a continuum of programs and services for individuals with disabilities across the lifespan.

With multiple locations throughout central Virginia, SOAR365 programs span the lifecycle and assist people with disabilities to live happy, successful and meaningful lives. Programs and services include: Pediatric Therapy Services; Adult & Youth Day Services; Workforce Development Services; and Residential (Summer Camp and Respite) Services.
