Our Mission at Valeo Home + Hospice is to compassionately provide individualized and ethical care to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual and practical needs of people in the last phase of life, those dying from a terminal illness.
Valeo means "to be well". This may seem like a paradox to one facing a life limiting illness. Charles B. Corbin of Arizona State University gives this definition of wellness: "Wellness is a multidimensional state of being describing the existence of positive health in an individual as exemplified by quality of life and a sense of well-being." Our hospice team is committed to helping you and your family navigate the unknown territory ahead, supporting the best quality of life possible and believing you can find a sense of well-being with times of peace, joy and love along the way`.
Valeo Home + Hospice is seeking Volunteer Childcare Providers to help us meet the needs of our patients living with serious illnesses. Many of our patients facing a terminal illness has small child living with them. Volunteer Childcare Providers are needed to help provide childcare. Shift would be 2-3 hours, dates and times vary. 12 hours of orientation/training required.
Additional volunteer opportunities may include
- Socialization: share stories, play games, listen, laugh + love.
- Support: running errands or light housework.
- Respite: allowing family caregiver time to recharge.
- Pet therapy: bring your bestfriend to meet a new friend.
- Life review: journaling a life story or letters to loved one's.
- Share your talent: bring your ideas, talents + time to those in need.
