National Foundation for Adult Victims of Childhood Trauma is a new mental health nonprofit 501(c)(3) looking for an experienced Grant Writer and Donor Relations Specialist. NFAVCT provides direct mental health services to low income and special populations such as adult victims of childhood trauma at no cost. We also work with survivors of domestic violence as well as substance abuse to include opiate and amphetamines. Additionally, we do research and conduct studies in applied science in order to reduce negative outcomes and develop new programs and responsive treatments for those suffering from childhood traumas. This organization fills a gap in the community where low to no cost mental health is absent.
Major Responsibilities:
- Research and identify prospective angel donors to secure funding to promote organizational mission.
- Develop and cultivate relationships with grant makers.
- Research and identify prospective grants to secure funding to promote organizational mission.
- Write grant proposals and assist with securing donations.
Requirements:
- Previous grant writing experience
- Passion to serve others
- Understanding of or willingness to learn about Childhood Trauma societal issues.
- Alignment with NFAVCT's purpose, mission, and values
- Writing and typing skills
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Work well independently
- Non-profit experience (preferred but not required)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Additionally, this person must enjoy connecting with the Reno community, and work well within the State/Federal/County mental health community.
Must be able to identify, cultivate and steward current and prospective partnerships with corporations, businesses, foundations and faith-based organizations and civic groups outside of grants process.
This is currently a volunteer position that could become a paid position as funds are developed. Required number of hours for this position are negotiable. This is a remote position.
