Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, widely recognized as one of New York’s premier human services providers, is a 128-year-old settlement house that provides an extensive array of effective and integrated services which significantly improve the lives of 16,000 people in need each year on the East Side of Manhattan. We run two dynamic Senior Centers located at 343 East 70th Street and 619 Lexington Avenue that serve thousands of older adults who enjoy a full range of educational, recreational, social and health and wellness activities, as well as wonderful meals prepared by our Food Services team. This position takes originates at our Older Adult Center at 343 East 70th Street.
Escorted Transportation Volunteers will provide safe and socially assisted accompaniment for Lenox Hill Neighborhood House Older Adult Center members to destinations in their community, including but not limited to, errands and appointments. Neighborhood House Older Adult Center members being escorted by volunteers are unable to travel independently due to mobility, vision, hearing, or cognitive impairments.

Lenox Hill Neighborhood House was founded in 1894 by the Alumnae Association of Normal College (now known as Hunter College of the City University of New York) as a free kindergarten for the children of indigent immigrants.
