In Polk County, 95,800 individuals, 15% of the population, are unsure they will have enough food to feed their families three meals a day! You can make a difference!

Volunteers are needed twice a month to distribute food to the community (2nd Tuesday and Last Tuesday). You can choose morning or afternoon shift.

Mobile Food Pantry volunteers assist with the unpacking, sorting and distribution of donated food items.

  • Requires standing, bending and lifting

  • 08:00 AM to 12:00 AM EST
    2nd Tuesday and Last Tuesday of the month
  • 12:00 PM to 04:00 PM EST
    2nd Tuesday and Last Tuesday of the month

Description

Leading Through Experience! You've gained a lifetime of experience. Now is the time to put your skills and talents to good use by volunteering through RSVP. RSVP provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through non-profit, faith-based, and governmental agencies to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of volunteers with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental accident insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
