ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW

L.A. Works is on a mission to connect with over half a million Angelinos on Disaster Preparedness resources and educational information. Spreading awareness and building intimate relationships with community members through Neighbor-to-Neighbor outreach will help us reach that goal.

IMPACT

Every Californian, regardless of age, ability, income, or language, deserves culturally competent education to prepare for earthquakes, floods, and the immediate threat of wildfires. We can help provide those resources to the community through Neighbor-to-Neighbor Outreach.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a Project Leader role. You will be responsible for completing Neighbor-to-Neighbor outreach within the community as well as recruiting volunteers for canvassing outreach.

Host two Canvassing opportunities per month in various parts of L.A. County.

Manage volunteers who will be participating in canvassing events.

Communicate the important emergency preparedness and response.

Draws attention to resources and materials provided by Listos California regarding emergency preparedness.

Completes a Listos Data Entry Form after each Canvas party.

REQUIREMENTS

2-hour zoom Project Leader training (so you're prepared to talk about our volunteer programs)

A minimum 3-month commitment.

Previous experience volunteering.

Comfortable talking about L.A. Works and Disaster Preparedness.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The opportunity coordinator will prepare you with Disaster Preparedness materials for the event such as flyers and Disaster Preparedness kits.

Location is dependent.
