Our volunteers provide a variety of supportive services. Patient & Family Support Volunteers interact directly with patients and families, often having a significant impact on the quality of life for patients with life-limiting illnesses and helping to fulfill our mission of providing compassionate care.
Working directly with patients and families, a few of the ways volunteers may help are:
- provide companionship
- read books or news
- sing to or with patients
- relieve caregivers for appointments or much-needed rest
- watch a favorite tv show with patient

Description
Heart to Heart Hospice was established in Plano, Texas, in 2003. Our founder, who continues to lead the organization today, believed in a philosophy of care based on compassion. That belief remains our guiding force.
Our volunteers are a special part of the Heart to Heart Hospice care team, making a difference in people’s lives by providing a variety of supportive services.
There are opportunities to interact directly with patients and families or to serve our local hospice programs by assisting staff members in an office setting. Both contribute something significant to our mission of providing compassionate care!
We provide training and our volunteer coordinator helps each volunteer find the most appropriate area of service.
