GRCB is an organization that seeks to empower girls, women, and gender-expansive youths and adults to believe in themselves by building a supportive community that fosters self-expression, confidence, and collaboration through music education and performance.

Apart of our mission is providing spaces for youth and adults to have fun, be themselves and make music! This yeah GRCB's Adult Sessions are back!

We need a crew of volunteers to help get our space ready for successful Adult sessions! Load In Crew comes in to set up the space before participants arrive. Load-In Crew is broken into two teams:
Gear Crew - It takes a lot of music equipment and supplies to make GRCB happen. We need a crew of people to help move guitar, basses, keyboards, and supply tubs, etc. out of our storage space and into our session space. The gear crew will work on moving, sorting and testing instruments and equipment. Meet up will be at The Record Co or our storage space located in JP. This does require lifting heavy equipment!

Decoration Crew - There are a lot of little pieces that go into making the GRCB experience happen. The Decoration Crew will help transform The Record Co. into GRCB HQ! The Decoration Crew will work on decorating the building, arranging goodie bags for the participants, organizing lanyards, setting up stations, doing inventory, and other tasks to get us ready for the GRCB Sessions! Load Out Crew comes into move our gear back into the storage space located in JP. This will involved lifting heavy equipment! Dates and Times
Load In - November 9th, 6:00-8:00pm @ The Record Co.
Load Out - November 14th, 6:00pm-8:00pm @ The Record Co. **Times are subject to change, which would be communicated via your volunteer confirmation e-mail.

Mission Statement

Boston Raising Powerful Musicians (BRPM) empowers girls, women, and gender-expansive youths and adults to believe in themselves by building a supportive community that fosters self-expression, confidence, and collaboration through music education and performance.

Description

Boston Raising Powerful Musicians (BRPM) works to eradicate all the limiting myths about music and gender by helping girls, women and gender expansive youth and adults to speak up, sing out, and make a lot of noise!

In a world that frequently minimizes these voices, BRPM believes in creating an enriching and supportive environment that celebrates our core values: Expression, Creativity, Collaboration, Inclusivity and Joy

BRPM is a volunteer-driven music education and mentorship organization that offers innovative and transformative programming to over 230 girls and youth with marginalized gender identities, ages 8 to 17, in the Boston area each year.

Our programming leverages hands-on music education and performance as vehicles to encourage confidence and collaboration while fostering creativity, self-expression, and social impact.

  • Youth Summer Sessions

  • BEATS, after-school program

  • Youth Activism Project

  • Adult Sessions

Each program is facilitated by women and gender-expansive adults who guide participants in instrument instruction, band formation, song composition, and performance. No musical experience is necessary to attend; BRPM provides all instruments and equipment.
