Help build HSLC’s social media presence!

The Humane Society of Loudoun County (HSLC) is looking for an energetic Social Media Specialist (SMS) to develop and implement a social media strategy, especially for Instagram. The SMS has the wonderful responsibility of growing our social media presence to reach and engage more animal lovers In HSLC’s life-saving mission.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and driving content strategy for HSLC’s social media presence

• Creating and curating HSLC’s social media content in support of that strategy

• Monitoring social media activity on a daily basis and responding promptly and professionally to comments and questions

• Keeping up to date on HSLC’s marketing priorities including fundraising, volunteer and foster recruitment, animal adoption, and special events

• Keeping on top of digital and social media trends and leveraging them as appropriate

• Adhering to HSLC’s brand guidelines and ensuring a professional presence across social media platforms

• Informing HSLC’s overarching marketing strategy in partnership with HSLC’s marketing lead and other marketing volunteers

The ideal candidate has the following:

• Prior experience as a social media admin for a company, non-profit or community group

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer service orientation

• High attention to detail

• Ability to multi-task and hit deadlines

• Strong planning and organizational skills

• Ability to interpret analytics and use them to drive strategy

• Proficient in Facebook or Instagram

• Basic proficiency in Canva or other design software

• A love of animals

• An updated resume

• Bonus: Experience successfully recruiting volunteers, supporters, adopters, and/or fosters using social media for an animal rescue or shelter.
