We Connect the Dots is looking for a motivated volunteer educator with a professional Device Management/Troubleshooting background to coach and advise under-resourced and unemployed 18-24 year olds during the process of their UpSkill Workforce Experience Training Program. This is a virtual opportunity volunteer experience, with no more than a 5 hour commitment. All sessions are delivered virtually using Microsoft Teams. About this role: We request that you deliver foundational level content around the understanding and implementation of Windows Management/Device Management/Troubleshooting via Microsoft Teams. Volunteer educator will join us Wednesday, March 8th from 11:15 pm - 2:30 pm (Including one 15 min break). Educator should guide the students in introduction, comprehension, and project management. They are also expected to facilitate collaboration among the group for active participation, engagement and student retention. What is the UpSkill WorkForce Experience? The UpSkill Program is an in depth 8 week tech skills training program designed for transitioning 18-24 year olds who seek an overall understanding of computer concepts, a detailed overview of basic computer skills, understanding of the internet, basic digital citizenship competencies, basic user security and soft skills. Requirements to become a volunteer educator:
- Knowledgeable in the necessary domain of tech
- Committed to serve the duration of time requirement to present your topic & connect with students
- Strong desire to help students accomplish an activity or quiz
- Reliable & professional
- Past mentorship experience highly recommended
- Willingness to pass a background check (legally required to volunteer with We Connect The Dots)

Description

We Connect The Dots will provide the necessary work skills needed for students to build strong careers in STEAM roles. By engaging in a partnership with communities, industry leaders, students and teachers, we will reduce the number of jobs that are filled by students outside the US. Creating a greater awareness to parents and students of the career possibilities and the skills necessary to succeed. Through an accelerated program and project based learning students will gain the experience that matches todays real world careers.
