The RAFT Educator Workroom is a creative workspace equipped with various materials and tools to meet educators’ needs in creating resources for their classrooms. These materials and tools include a large collection of Ellison dies, paper cutters, laminators, and a computer with a printer. RAFT seeks volunteers to work with RAFT retail staff to help serve the Educator Workroom. This will serve as a critical part of helping RAFT support educators!
WHAT WOULD YOU DO
- Offer a welcoming environment for educators
- Make sure educators have an appointment to use the resources as well as help them make a reservation
- Maintain equipment in working condition
- Provide educators with simple training in Workroom resources (die-cuts, laminator, binding machine, etc.)
- Organize and straighten the space as needed. This includes wiping down surfaces after use to prepare for the next member to use
- Manage and track consumable materials (binder combs, tape, loose paper, etc.)
- Help ensure members pay for the paper that is used
- Monitor die-cut inventory to ensure no resource goes missing
- Simple processing of donations for the RAFT Store during downtime
This is a great opportunity for retirees interested in volunteering as well as those who are passionate about art and crafts. We need volunteers to help us during store hours on Tuesday through Sunday, emphasizing Saturday. Shifts will be for 3 hours and will take place between 9 am-4 pm.
