3-D Printer Makers
Are you technologically savvy? Do you like to create with 3-D printers? Use your computer skills to help build tools for students with disabilities!
We are looking for volunteers to create items for elementary and high school-aged students using 3-D printers. These items may include zipper pulls, utensil cuffs, iPad keyguards and mounts for wheelchairs. By making these items you can help students gain independence and have more access to the world around them.
It would be beneficial for volunteers to have access to a larger size 3-D printer; however, we do have a smaller sized one at Pillar High School in Livingston. This can be used on a scheduled basis.
Volunteers will be matched with a student in need of an item, meet with the student or therapist at our school in Livingston, take measurements and build a 3-D item customized just for them!
Most of the files for these items can be found and downloaded online. It would be beneficial for volunteers to have access to a larger size 3-D printer- however, we do have a small one which can be used on a scheduled basis. This project is ongoing and based on student need and volunteer availability.
