ORGANIZATION: Services Now for Adult Persons

SNAP's Friendly Visiting Program matches homebound seniors (over the age of 60) with volunteers for one hour per week to help lessen their social isolation. The visits are made based on the VOLUNTEER's availability and they do not have to be the same day and time each week. You have no idea what that walk in the park, that game of scrabble, or that heartfelt conversation can do to help one feel less lonely. This opportunity not only enriches the lives of the client, but the volunteer as well.

If you, or someone you know have an hour per week and can spend that time helping someone feel less isolated, please reach out. We have a long waitlist of wonderful people that could really use a friend.

Services Now for Adult Persons, Inc. has accepted the challenge of being dedicated to the needs of older adults. SNAP provides direct services to enhance their quality of life. We also provide coordination of case plans, advocacy and linkages to community resources to assist our clients and to prevent premature institutionalization

Description

Services Now for Adult Persons Volunteer program is two-fold.

1. We help active senior citizens find volunteer opportunities in the community.

2. We recruit any age volunteers to assist homebound and more frail senior citizens in their every day needs. From just having tea and chatting to shoveling snow, all volunteers are so welcome and so appreciated.
