Dog Walking

Help homeless dogs find forever homes at the Heigl Foundation's Halloween Harvest Adoption Fair in Long Beach, CA. It will be from 10am-3pm at the Gelson's Market parking lot in Long Beach, CA.

Tasks include:
- walking dogs
- handling dogs
- speaking with the public
- meet and greet dogs with potential adopters
- cleaning up after dogs
- helping set up and take down
- helping load up and unload dogs from transporter

Description

Dedicated to animal advocacy, the focus of the Heigl Foundation is to:

  • Work directly to address the pet population crisis.
  • Increase awareness of the inhumane treatment of animals.
  • Support non-profit animal rescue and animal advocacy organizations in their efforts to save shelter animals.
  • Fund and encourage free spay/neuter programs and clinics.
  • Place rescued dogs and cats into loving homes.
  • Provide safe havens for animals that have been abused or neglected.
  • Educate the public about the horrors of puppy mills and dog fighting.
  • Ensure that perpetrators of animal abuse are held accountable and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
