About the Opportunity:
We are looking for designers who can support us in developing 'evergreen’ social media content. We hope to develop a large repository of well-designed posts that can be reused indefinitely. We will use these posts as filler content to supplement our direct and time-specific social media posts.

Content for this will include testimonials and children’s artwork (from our projects), and could also include facts, famous quotes, artists, and articles that are relevant to our mission.

Each designer will work with the founder and the Marketing Manager to identify content areas and will work either on Canva or on a design platform of their choice to provide corresponding visuals suited for different social media platforms, being careful to use the Doodles style and language.

About Doodles Academy:

Doodles Academy designs curricular materials to expand children’s access to high-quality visual arts education. Our vision is for every child to receive a holistic arts education, irrespective of school, budget, zip code, or student demographics. We operate on the understanding that the arts are essential to a child’s well-rounded education, and can be transformative in supporting learning across subjects. In all of our work, we strive to ensure arts education supports powerful learning and engagement for students, and supports teachers to embrace authentic student expression via project-based work. At the core of Doodles Academy’s mission is a deep commitment to rebalancing the uneven landscape of visual arts instruction in public education.

Too often, art programs are either underfunded or non-existent in public schools, which disproportionately impacts low-income students of color. Educational art programs that students do have access to often revolve around projects that focus on product rather than process, limiting students’ creative expression and critical thinking skills. To address this, Doodles Academy offers free and low-cost curriculum options that:

  • embrace authentic student expression
  • showcase diverse artists and experiences
  • are comprehensive and easy to implement
  • are aligned to college- and career-ready standards
  • are connected to themes and topics commonly taught in literacy, science, social studies, and math curricula

Doodles Academy’s standards-aligned materials-all of which draw from the work of Dr. Gholdy Muhammad to support culturally and historically responsive teaching-are structured to amplify content and skills that students can use across subject areas. The curriculum is designed to center students’ own storytelling and create highly individualized art projects that reflect their unique thinking. This, in turn, creates a more engaging, complex, and challenging learning environment where students have access to the skills and tools they need to solve their own creative problems. In 2021, over 11,500 educators accessed Doodles’ free curriculum.
