During the month of September, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the North Coast is calling on community members to do something BIG!

YOU can make a BIG difference by being a caring adult in a child's life, by providing them with friendship, support, & encouragement. Big Brothers Big Sisters of the North Coast is more than a program to help young people, it’s a life-changing experience for mentors & mentees.

There are many Littles, here in Humboldt County, who are waiting to be matched with a volunteer mentor like YOU! To learn more about how YOU can make a BIG difference, attend one of our upcoming Big Orientations on Wednesday 9/7 at 6PM or Wednesday, 9/21 at 6PM. Use the link below to join in.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide children facing emotional, social, personal and/or academic adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported 1-to-1 mentoring relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.

Description

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the North Coast, a non-profit affiliate of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, has served over 3,000 children in Humboldt County since its founding in 1969. We connect fun, positive adults and responsible high school students one-to-one with children and teens in community-based and school-based mentoring programs. The children in our programs come from low-income, single-parent homes or homes where one or more parents is incarcerated. It is our belief that building a trusting friendship between a child and a mentor can make a powerful impact in their life.
