ORGANIZATION: ATLANTA BOTANICAL GARDEN Gainesville

As a Garden Essential Maintenance volunteer (GEM), you will assist our horticulture team with various tasks throughout the garden. Working in a team environment, you will assist in weeding, watering, pruning, mulching, and other garden care tasks. Volunteers will help with the upkeep of the Garden. This is a year-round volunteer position, so commitment and dedication to this position is required. In Garden Maintenance you will learn various procedures and techniques from our horticulture staff. Volunteers will find this an incredibly rewarding experience that will leave guests amazed at their accomplishments.

1 Shift

  • morning / 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM
    Tuesday and/or Thursdays; some Fridays

The Atlanta Botanical Garden is a private, non-profit organization governed by a board of trustees. Mary Pat Matheson is the Garden’s President/CEO. ABG is located on 30 acres of land, leased from the City of Atlanta, adjacent to Piedmont Park. The Garden’s Mission is to develop and maintain plant collections for display, education, research, conservation and enjoyment. The Gainesville location, opened in 2015, celebrates years of planning and development of one of North Georgia’s most beautiful landscapes aimed at connecting visitors with both the natural world and cultural amenities.
