WHAT:
Join LA Family Housing's Volunteer Orientation to:
- get a crash course in the causes of and solutions to homelessness
- learn how to utilize trauma-informed care when volunteering with people transitioning out of homelessness
- ask a veteran street outreach worker your questions
- sign up for our volunteering opportunities
WHY:
We know you want to start volunteering with people experiencing homelessness right away! But trust us - we all have a lot to learn. And we want to set you up to make the biggest impact you can.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Computer and access to Zoom
- Cameras must be on so we can confirm your active participation
- Ages 14+
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA) YOU EARN FROM PARTICIPATING IN THIS VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:

Description
LA Family Housing (LAFH) helps people transition out of homelessness and poverty through a continuum of housing enriched with supportive services. One of the largest homeless service providers and affordable real estate developers in Los Angeles, LAFH currently owns and operates 33 properties of interim, affordable, and supportive housing across the County, and has nearly 750 new homes in the pipeline to be completed in the coming years. The agency connects 12,000 low-income children, parents, and single adults with housing resources and services annually.
