SunriseWALKS-Pearl River benefits Sunrise Day Camp-Pearl River, the world's first full-summer day camp for children with cancer and their siblings, offered completely free of charge. More than just a walk, SunriseWALKS is our annual community event filled with music, games, prizes, and more! This year, we are celebrate 10 years of Sunrise in Pearl River, and are excited to invite our local community to celebrate this special milestone with us!
By joining us, you will be playing a key role in sending children with cancer and their siblings to Sunrise Day Camp, where they can forget about the hospital beds, and needles, and enjoy a summer camp filled with excitement, friendship, and fun.
Pre-Event Volunteers
Help assemble goody bags, organize event shirts, and other tasks needed to ensure a successful event!
Walk Day Volunteers
We are always looking for day-of event volunteers. Areas to assist are parking, arts & crafts stations, breakfast station, registration/check-in, on the walk course, at our Finish Line Carnival, and set-up and break-down of the event.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Sunrise Association is to bring back the joys of childhood to children with cancer and their siblings world-wide, through the creation of Sunrise Day Camps, Year-Round Programs and In-Hospital Recreational Activities, all offered free of charge.
Description
Providing memorable summers since 2006 for children ages 31/2-16, Sunrise Day Camps bring the simple pleasures of childhood back to children struggling with cancer, changing months of loneliness and isolation into summers filled with sunshine, laughter and happiness. And because Sunrise is a day camp, it does all this while allowing the children to continue their medical treatment and enjoy the comfort and safety of their own homes at night. There are currently four Sunrise Day Camps - two in New York (on Long Island & in Pearl River) and two in Israel (Even Yehuda & Be’er Sheva). In 2016, two new camps will open in Staten Island, NY, and Baltimore, MD. Sunrise Day Camps are affiliated with 25 renowned hospitals and medical centers. Sunrise Sundays and Fun-days offer children exciting activities and events when school is not in session; Sunrise on Wheels is a one-of-a-kind program that provides hours of Sunrise-fun to children undergoing treatment in pediatric oncology units of participating hospitals.
