Our challenge

Massage Therapist Volunteers are key to supporting our event participants, especially those who’ve just finished running a marathon! Your support will help us raise vital funds and move closer to our vision of a world where brain tumours are defeated.

How can you help?

We’d love you to attend our post race reception for the 2022 London Marathon at King’s College London on Sunday 2nd October 2022.

You can help our brilliant runners recover from their marathon with a relaxing massage. We’d also love for you to help congratulate runners on their achievement, chat to them about the race and thank them for all their hard-work fundraising.

What impact will you have?

Your support will help us provide an amazing event day experience for our London Marathon Team.

The London Marathon is one of our biggest events of the year and our team of runners spend months training and fundraising to complete the event and raise money for The Charity. Some of our team have been waiting years to complete the London Marathon. With your help we can ensure they have a fabulous time at our post race reception!

We’re looking for...

Qualified massage therapists to attend our post race reception venue and help our amazing team of runners recover from all their hard work running a marathon. As part of our volunteer team you will be welcoming and friendly and willing to chat to our runners about the event. We need you to have:

 A massage therapy qualification (or currently working towards this)

 Great interpersonal skills

 Your own massage equipment and insurance that covers practicing therapy at our event

We particularly encourage applications from those who are significantly underrepresented in our sector, including individuals from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities.

 You’ll have the opportunity to utilise your existing skills, while developing and learning new ones to take forward into the future

 You’ll join a friendly, passionate team and become a vital member of our volunteer team for the London Marathon

 You’ll develop an understanding of how the Events team at The Charity operates

Time commitment

We’ll need your help at the 2022 London Marathon post race reception on Sunday 2nd October between 12:00 and 17:30.

Practical considerations

You will receive a full brief prior to the event as well as ongoing direction from one of the team, who will be your key contact.

Volunteers will be required to complete some internal data protection and disclosure documentation before commencing the role. Volunteers must be over 18.

We encourage volunteers to claim for any reasonable expenses that are incurred in the course of their volunteering with the Charity. Find out more in our expenses policy.
