Report to: Volunteer Coordinator

Overview of Position: Undertake all receptionist and clerical duties at Healing Action’s front desk.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome Healing Action guests
  • Answer incoming calls; redirect them or take a message and ensure appropriate delivery
  • Receive letters, packages, etc. and distribute them
  • Keep front office presentable

Qualifications:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to pass Family Care Safety Registry Background Check
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Passion to help others
  • Minimum time commitment of two shifts a week

Volunteer Needed: Monday through Friday from 10am to 2pm

Estimated Time Commitment: 8-20 hours weekly

Description

Healing Action has been established for 2 years while being the only provider of peer-led, clinical support in the St. Louis region. The primary focus of the work at Healing Action is to help individuals who have survived commercial sexual exploitation to heal and rebuild their lives on their own terms. We do this through a creative array of client-centered, trauma-informed therapeutic work, both individual and group based. Survivors lead the therapeutic force - this is what makes Healing Action unique in the state of Missouri and from other agencies doing similar work. Therapeutic services are facilitated and led by survivors who have forged their own path out of "the life" and through the acquisition of the training, education, and credentials worthy of this calling. Due to the education and clinical experience of our founder all services, peer or otherwise, are rooted in evidence-based trauma-informed care.
