Volunteers help us Shine!
As a Volunteer, you’ll gain tremendous satisfaction from assisting the participants in their progress as they enjoy physical, emotional, and cognitive contact with the horses.
Our mission is to provide therapeutic horsemanship programs to children, adults, and families with special needs; including veterans of all eras in order to improve physical, mental, emotional, and social areas of their lives.
Our Vision: We exist to embrace our community with hope and unconditional love by serving individuals with special needs in order to develop strength, build confidence, and achieve goals. At Shining Stars, families get the therapy they need from the horses they love.
Horse experience is not necessary. If you are interested in helping with our riding session, you will need to come to one training each year.
Opportunities include: side-walker and horse leader. Classes are held Monday through Saturday.

We provide therapeutic horsemanship programs to special needs children, adults, families, and veterans in order to improve physical, mental, emotional, and social areas of their lives.
Description
Located near Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Shining Stars Therapeutic Riding Program is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving local communities, generally in Adams and York Counties, through equine-assisted activities and therapies. Participant registration is open to anyone 2 to 92+ years old with special needs. Instructor-guided exercises, activities, and games provide opportunities for participants to be challenged and grow as well as a means of recreation and enjoyment. Working together with our equine facilitators, families get the therapy they need on the horses they love.
